The Kochi Metro is a proposed mass transit system for the South Indian city of Kochi. It was one of the first proposed in India but was delayed for a variety of reasons. It is now planned to be commissioned by 2011. The alignment was created by the DMRC and is planned to be made on a Public-Private Partnership basis. The nodal agency for the project is KINFRA. Kochi Metro Rail Corporation has been created specially for this project.The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has proposed a route spanning 25.253 from Thripunithura to Alwaye.There will be 26 Stations and are the following:

I have a suggestion that the route to Petta may be extented to Mammala. It will help to make a main station and availability of barren land will help for parking,and the people from Eastern and western side will park their vechile and travel in Metro.Petta is a very conjestive area.

please consider the starting point from Cochin international airport,it will help the persons arriving on port to tourist places at eranakulam like fortkochi.
should start from Thripunithura/ kureekad .Since Thripunithura/kureekad is having a railway station now So people can be connected from other part of the kerala thru Indian railway.

Sir, my humble submission is as follows: am a resident of Chithrapuzha. I know it is not an easy to extend beyond the proposed Petta terminal t present. But considering the step of acquisition for petta terminal as the area is a residential one, you can consider to extend the terminal by another 2 km up to SAIL stock yard or at MILM campus, were we will get more space and it will be easy to access to the train commuters who are coming through Kottayam route by getting down at Tripunithura station. request Further Tripunitura is a point were commuters from Idukki district and Kottayam district are reaching. In addition a circular service ( by road) of KSRTC or KOCHI METRO is also implemented from Tripunithura Bus stand via railway station to Kochi Metro station will also help lot of people to save time by using the metro from Tripuniuthura if it starts as wished.
